Germany, Poland, France Initiate Coalition On Long-Range Weapons

What is known.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the intention of these three countries to create a coalition of European states to develop long-range weapons at a meeting with his counterparts from France and Poland in Paris on June 24.

His words are quoted by the AFP agency.

According to Pistorius, “long-range weapons are a serious gap in Europe”, so before the NATO summit in July, Berlin, Warsaw and Paris intend to agree on “eliminating this gap” in the medium and long term.

The head of the German Defense Ministry suggested that a corresponding declaration of intent could be signed at the NATO summit in the United States, which would be “a visible sign of our readiness to take responsibility”.

“We will show in Washington how strongly and reliably the Europeans are involved,” Pistorius emphasized.

Germany, Poland and France cooperate in the so-called Weimar Triangle.
