Drones of the Security Service of Ukraine have struck again at Russian oil production platforms in the Caspian Sea. As a result of the attack, production processes have been suspended, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing sources in the SBU.
Long-range drones of the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center have successfully attacked the oil production platform named after V.V. Vakhtangov in the Caspian Sea for the second time this week. In addition, another platform - named after Korchagin - was hit. Korchagin. Both facilities belong to Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft and operate in the Caspian Sea.
According to preliminary information, the SBU drones damaged critical equipment on both ice-resistant platforms, which led to the suspension of production processes.
The Filanovsky oil field is the largest oil production platform in the Caspian Sea. The Filanovsky field is one of the largest explored fields in Russia and in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. Its reserves are estimated at 129 million tons of oil and 30 billion cubic meters of gas.
"The SBU continues systematic work aimed at reducing revenues to the Russian budget from the oil and gas sector. The frequency, geography and accuracy of the strikes is a signal to the Russian Federation that as long as its aggression continues, 'bavovna' will burn at all Russian facilities that work for the war," an informed source in the SBU said."
