A video showing a clash between American hosts went viral.
On the morning show “Fox & Friends,” hosts Brian Kilmeade and Rachel Campos-Duff argued over U.S. President Donald Trump’s to purchase Russian diesel and his criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for continuing to strike oil refineries in Russia, the aggressor nation. The video was posted on October 12 on Facebook by Ukrainian journalist Ostap Yarysh.
An excerpt from the debate went viral on social media, where people are already breaking down the conversation between the two hosts into quotes.
Yarish pointed out that Campos-Duff is the very same journalist who, just a few days earlier, claimed that Zelenskyy allegedly wants to use attacks on Russian oil refineries to complicate Trump’s position ahead of the midterm congressional elections and help the Democrats.
Brian Kilmeade is a well-known TV host in the MAGA community who consistently takes a pro-Ukrainian conservative stance.
During the debate, Campos-Duff supported Trump’s call to elect a new Ukrainian leader.
Kilmid noted that Trump “got angry” because Zelenskyy stated that there was no need to purchase 5 million metric tons of diesel fuel. He emphasized that diesel shipments violate a law passed by Senator Lindsey Graham, which imposes sanctions for purchasing energy resources from Russia.
“So, are we going to impose tariffs on ourselves? I don’t understand at all. Zelenskyy is disappointed because now all this money will flow to Russia, which started this war without any provocation. The Russians are the bad guys, and Zelenskyy hasn’t rejected a single realistic peace agreement. Moreover, ever since he was told he’d lose the Donbas, he’s recaptured part of the Donbas,” the host stated.
He also emphasized that there was no realistic peace proposal in which Russia’s legitimate president, Vladimir Putin, would be willing to participate and that could end the war.
Campos-Duff continued to insist: Trump decided to buy Russian diesel allegedly because Ukraine continues to blow up Russian oil refineries.
“President Trump said, ‘Don’t do that.’ Brian, are you on America’s side or Ukraine’s?” — she quoted Kilmid as saying to her opponents.
He replied that diesel shipments had stopped because Iran had begun blowing up oil facilities in the Persian Gulf countries. “And now, all of a sudden, people are talking about Russia again,” he added.
Kilmid also called it “phenomenal” how Ukraine, thanks to innovative drones, had learned to destroy the power source of the Russian military machine.
Campos-Duff pointed out that, because of the war, 30,000 young men are dying every month on each side. She accused the Ukrainian army of using “children [young soldiers] as guinea pigs, experimenting with drone technology.”
“Rachel, this is a response to the attacks. Rockets are being fired at Ukrainians,” Kilmid reminded the audience.
The host also suggested that Trump is now cooperating with Russia allegedly because of the “arrogance of the Ukrainian president.” In response, Kilmid called such cooperation the Trump administration’s biggest mistake and pointed out that Russia and China support Iran and the Houthis.
