Andrzej Poczobut's Father Commented Movingly On The News Of His Son's Release

He learned the news of his release from journalists.

Stanislav Poczobut, the father of already former political prisoner Andrzej Poczobut, learned about his son's release from a journalist of the Polish publication Wirtualna Polska. "It's like a thunderbolt. I mean, we've been waiting for so many years. I am very proud of Andriy," he said.

His emotions were so strong that it was hard for him to speak.

"We are excited. My wife is sitting next to me, crying tears of emotion, I can't calm her down. The emotions are so great that it's hard for me to utter a single sentence. I can't find the words to convey what I'm feeling. It's like thunder, because we've been waiting for so many years," he said.

Stanislaw Poczobut thanked everyone who "remembered Andrzej and surrounded him with prayer."

"We thank everyone who remembered Andrzej. We thank Poland. I am very proud of Andrzej. When I see him, I will fall on my knees in front of him and kiss his hand," he says.
