Threats should not be underestimated.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki said Russia's war against Ukraine has become a challenge to the entire NATO, writes The Guardian.
"Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine is not an isolated conflict, but rather a direct challenge to the entire Euro-Atlantic security order," Nawrocki said, speaking at the opening of the Bucharest Nine summit.
He added that Russia's revisionism is not temporary. Deterrence cannot exist only on paper, he said.
"There should be no doubt about who launched this brutal war. We must also fully understand the role of Belarus, which continues to support Russia's military efforts and allows hostile hybrid actions from its territory against NATO allies and partners," the Polish president emphasized.
Nawrocki also urged allies not to underestimate the threat from Russia:
"The countries represented in this room understand, perhaps better than anyone else, the price of complacency. We know what happens when aggression is underestimated and when democratic countries show indecision."
