Netanyahu Met Secretly With UAE President During Operation Against Iran
Benjamin Netanyahu

This was reported by the office of the Israeli prime minister.

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu secretly visited the UAE during the "Lion's Roar" military operation against Iran and met with the country's President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Israeli prime minister's office said.

"The visit led to a historic breakthrough in relations between Israel and the UAE," the office said in a social media post on X.

On May 12, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said the Jewish state had sent the UAE missile launchers for the Iron Dome air defense system, as well as personnel to operate it. According to Reuters, the UAE intends to use the rigs to defend against Iranian attacks.

The Axios publication reported that the decision to send the Iron Dome battery to the UAE was made personally by Benjamin Netanyahu after a telephone conversation with the UAE president shortly after the conflict in the Middle East began. The UAE became the first foreign country to receive Israeli air defense installations.
