A large-scale exercise has been announced in Khoiniki, where actions will be practiced in case of "conditional missile strikes with a mass number of victims", a local provla publication reported on May 15. The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed about the imminent check of the warning system.

The exercise should be held with the participation of district services and civil defense. The district executive committee even held an "important seminar-meeting" to brief them on this occasion. The head of the district Dmitry Shpiganovich and the head of the Regional Emergency Situations Department Viktor Satsura said that the purpose of the exercise was "to ensure an organized and prompt response of all services to possible emergencies of any nature."

"In the scenario, in addition to standard drills of actions in case of flooding of settlements, accidents on utility networks (water and heat cut off) and "conditional" missile strikes with mass casualties, special attention was paid to improving the warning system and a set of measures to protect the population," the district newspaper reported.
