It's not just Washington that won't agree to that.
United States Vice President J.D. Vance has sharply rejected the idea of transferring Iranian enriched uranium to Russia as part of a peace settlement with Tehran. He said at a White House briefing that this was not the US plan, Clash Report reported.
"We have no current plans for Russia to take possession of Iranian enriched uranium. We have never planned to. I don't know where the reports of that are coming from," Vance said.
He emphasized that, not only Washington but Iran would not agree to that, and noted that Tehran has not raised the subject.
"It's not something the Iranians would be particularly enthusiastic about, and I know the president's not too enthusiastic about it either," he said.
Vance also noted that Iran's position in the negotiations has not always been clear.
"Sometimes it's hard to understand exactly what the Iranians want to accomplish in the negotiations...I think the Iranians want to make a deal.... but I can't say with certainty that we will reach an agreement until we actually sign it," he said.
He also declined to talk about any preliminary commitments being discussed "on any particular topic."
"The Iranians themselves are not very clear on what direction they want to go, they are also just a fractured country. There's the leadership of the country, there's the supreme leader, and there's a lot of officials below the supreme leader who have some influence in the negotiations," Vance added.
