Russians Attacked The Funeral Procession In Sumy

The people who came to see their loved ones off on their final journey have been hit.

On May 23, a Russian drone attacked a mourning convoy in Sumy. Medics tried to save the seriously wounded man, but he died in hospital.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the message of the head of Sumy regional military administration Oleh Grigorov in Telegram.

"A cynical attack. Today a Russian drone attacked a mourning convoy on the outskirts of Sumy," Grigorov said.

At first, authorities reported nine casualties, four people were treated by medics on the spot, several others were hospitalized.

One of the wounded was in critical condition - doctors carried out resuscitation measures. Another person in serious condition was operated on.

Subsequently, the head of the OVA reported that one of the injured died in hospital.

"To our great regret, a man who received super-heavy wounds as a result of the Russian strike on the mourning column in Sumy died in hospital," Grigorov wrote.

He said that the medics did everything possible to save the man. Now the identity of the deceased is being established.

Emergency services are working at the scene of the attack. Authorities are clarifying all the circumstances and consequences of the strike.
