Iran To Restore Internet Access After Three Months Of Blockades

The president of the country signed the decree.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has signed a decree restoring internet access in the country. This was reported by Fars and Tasnim. The data was confirmed by Ali Ahmadnia, head of the government's information directorate.

"All government representatives voted to restore the internet to pre-crisis levels," Ahmadnia wrote on social networking site X. According to monitoring service NetBlocks, Iran has been without internet for 87 consecutive days.

Iranian authorities blocked internet access during January's anti-government protests. Restrictions were resumed after the US and Israeli military operation against Iran began in late February. Residents of the country had access only to internal government platforms, Reuters points out.
