Lavrov Told Rubio About Russia's Decision To Strike Kiev

Russian foreign minister threatens Ukraine with 'systemic' strikes.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephone conversation with the head of the US State Department Marco Rubio. The Russian foreign minister told the secretary of state that the Russian Armed Forces are launching "systematic and consistent strikes" against facilities in Kiev. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov emphasized that the Russian Foreign Ministry recommended other countries to evacuate their citizens from Kiev. The minister said that the Ukrainian and European authorities are allegedly undermining the agreements reached by Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage in August 2025.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said today that the Russian army is preparing to strike at the AFU's drone production and programming sites, as well as at "decision-making centers and command centers" in Kiev. The agency urged foreigners to leave the city.
