Kiev figured out early on what the Russians are up to.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has probably already prepared a military action plan for the summer of 2026, and strikes on Kiev could be just the beginning.
Moscow is not giving up its intentions to seize all of Donbass despite the fact that the AFU is fighting back against Russian troops, writes Bild.
"The aim is to attack Ukraine in places where its defenses are weakened. Ukraine should be forced to move its troops to the north so that it will be easier for Russia to attack and seize the Donetsk region later," explained Austrian military expert Markus Reisner.
According to him, the Russian Armed Forces are now concentrated mainly on the central section of the eastern front and are simultaneously increasing pressure on the Kharkiv, Sumy and Zaporizhzhya regions.
At the same time, British expert on Russia Keir Giles is convinced that Russia wants to crush Ukraine's resistance, but sees no signs that Russia is preparing for a big summer offensive.
Giles emphasized that Moscow is trying to achieve increased pressure from the U.S. on Kiev, as well as brutal strikes on the civilian population of Ukraine.
Ukraine has its summer plan
The 7th Corps' communications chief, Colonel Vladimir Polevoy, told reporters that Ukraine realized early on what the Russians were up to, so the Defense Forces have already reinforced defense lines.
In addition, Polevoy said, Ukraine has strengthened its ability to launch strikes deep into Russian territory.
He noted that their goal is to try to cut the enemy's logistical routes.
The authors of the material emphasized that Ukraine's strategy is working, because in recent weeks, Russian oil refineries, fuel depots and industrial facilities have been hit almost daily with long-range drone strikes.
The purpose of these strikes is to put pressure on Russian logistics, fuel supplies and the military economy.
