On the night of May 5, Russia's Leningrad region came under drone attack. Russian authorities claimed air defense work and the alleged shooting down of 16 drones.
This was reported by the governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.
He said air defense forces "reflect the enemy's attack" and combat work continues.
"At the moment 16 UAVs have been shot down over the Leningrad region. Combat work continues. Air defense forces and means reflect the enemy's attack," Drozdenko said.
At the background of the attack, Rosaviatsia reported the restriction of flights at Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg. The agency said that such measures were introduced "for security reasons."
