Rocket Alert In 18 Russian Regions: Refineries And Plants On Fire

Even the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District could have been attacked.

On the night of May 5, Russia declared a missile threat in 18 regions at once, including an area significantly distant from the war zone, an unprecedented case since the beginning of the war. This was reported by "Dialog" with reference to Russian Telegram channels. In particular, the missile alert was first sounded in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, located about 2,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

According to monitoring channels, loud pops were heard, in particular, in Cheboksary and Kazan. Before that, sirens were also turned on in the aforementioned cities. The situation in Cheboksary attracts special attention. Local residents write in social networks about a series of arrivals and loud explosions, and monitoring resources specify: we are talking about a strike by a Flamingo missile on the strategically important enterprise VNIIR-PROGRESS. The plant specializes in manufacturing navigation equipment and components for cruise and ballistic missiles.

Also, long-range UAVs attacked strategic facilities in Russia's Leningrad region. According to preliminary information, the Kirishi oil refinery came under attack.
