Zelensky: Russians Violated Their Own "truce"

The occupiers made no attempt to cease fire at the front.

On Friday, May 8, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that the Russian Federation, despite its statements, did not even try to cease fire on the front, with more than 140 shellings recorded.

"During last night, the Russian army continued to strike Ukrainian positions. As of 7 a.m., more than 140 shelling of positions on the front were already recorded," the head of state said in Telegram.

He said the Russians carried out ten assault actions during the night, and most of all in the Slavyansk direction. They also carried out more than 850 strikes with drones of different types: FPV, Lancet and others, in addition, used attack drones. The use of reconnaissance drones in the skies of frontline communities did not stop either.

"All this clearly shows that there was not even an imitation attempt to cease fire on the front from the Russian side," Zelensky said. Ukraine, according to Zelensky, will act in a mirror-like manner.
