The EU flag will be raised again over the Hungarian Parliament building.
In Hungary, as incoming Prime Minister Peter Magyar is sworn in, thousands of people are expected to gather in a square right outside the parliament to celebrate the last moments of Viktor Orban's 16-year rule.
This is reported by "European Pravda".
But before he starts governing, Magyar called Hungarians to an all-day "regime change" party on Saturday to celebrate his inauguration and the end of the Orban era.
"We will cross the threshold of regime change with a grand party. Come and invite your family and friends!" - Magyar wrote on his social media accounts.
Many of the priorities Magyar outlined for his future government include mending relations with EU partners, which Orban has brought to the brink of rupture, and reclaiming Hungary's place among Western democracies, which has come into question with Orban's increasing rapprochement with Russia.
As a sign of that commitment, representatives of the Tisza party say that starting Saturday they will again display the EU flag on the facade of the parliament building, which Orban's government removed in 2014.
Magyar is due to take the oath of office around 3 p.m. local time on Saturday, after which he will address a crowd outside. In an invitation to the event, he promised artistic performances and surprise guests.
The liberal mayor of Hungary's capital Budapest, Gergei Karacsony, also announced a "system shutdown" party on the banks of the Danube, an event he said is meant to show gratitude to Hungarians who have opposed Orban's system for years.
"Fired teachers, humiliated civilians and journalists, destroyed small churches. We can finally put this era behind us - but first let's remember the everyday heroes and express our gratitude by saying goodbye to the system," the mayor of the Hungarian capital wrote on his social media accounts.
