It's not just about a possible air attack.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin fears that Ukraine will launch an air strike against a military parade in Moscow on May 9. This is the opinion of Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna, writes ERR.
Tsakhna emphasized that Putin unilaterally announced a truce with Ukraine for May 8-9 because he fears strikes by Ukrainian long-range UAVs on the military parade on Red Square in Moscow.
The Estonian minister said there is no strategic sense in Putin's "truce." Putin's explanation for the "truce" is that he is frightened by the possible disruption of the event.
The Estonian foreign minister suggested that Putin also fears an assassination attempt on him. In addition, the Kremlin master fears a coup d'état that could be staged by disgruntled Russian elites or security forces.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has also previously said that Putin announced the truce because he fears attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He considers the truce for May 8-9 to be a tactical ploy by the Kremlin so that Russia could hold a military parade in Moscow in a calm environment without fear of AFU strikes.
It should be noted that although Putin unilaterally announced the truce on May 8, the Russian occupiers were the first not to honor it. According to Zelensky, on the night of May 8, the enemy stormed the AFU positions 10 times and used several hundred UAVs of different types.
