The U.S. military has intercepted 141 Iranian vessels since the start of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Some of them have been disabled.
This was reported by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on social media platform X.
What happened
According to the command, as of June 13, U.S. forces had intercepted 141 merchant vessels linked to Iran.
CENTCOM clarified: the blockade applies to vessels from all countries entering or leaving Iranian ports.
This covers:
all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf;
Iranian ports in the Gulf of Oman;
Iran’s coastal areas.
At the same time, conditions for other vessels remain unchanged. “The international trade corridor remains open for transit,” the command noted.
