Zelenskyy Confirmed A Meeting With Trump At The G7

The summit will take place in France next week.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump during the G7 summit, which will take place in France next week. Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram on June 14, following a phone call with Trump.

Euractiv had previously reported on the likelihood of such a meeting. However, The Guardian, citing a high-ranking source in the U.S. administration, wrote on June 14 that Trump does not intend to hold a bilateral meeting with Zelensky on the sidelines of the summit.

The Ukrainian president said that during his phone call with Trump, he discussed what “could help bring peace closer now.”

“We agreed to discuss this further during our meeting at the G7 summit. We have some good ideas that could help bring peace closer and protect lives,” he wrote.
