The latest group stage matches took place at the FIFA World Cup, which is being held in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
In the opening match of the day, the Netherlands and Japan played to a 2–2 draw. The Dutch took the lead twice thanks to goals by Virgil van Dijk and Criscensio Summerville, but the Japanese managed to come back. Keito Nakamura and Daichi Kamada scored for the Asian team.
In another match, the Ivory Coast national team narrowly defeated Ecuador 1-0. The only goal was scored by midfielder Amad Diallo.
The highest-scoring match was between Sweden and Tunisia. The Swedes secured a convincing 5-1 victory. Yassine Ayari scored twice, while Alexander Isak, Victor Djukeres, and Martin Svanberg each added a goal. The sole goal for Tunisia was scored by Omar Rekik.
Two more matches will be played today: Spain will face Cape Verde, and Belgium will take on Egypt.
