SpaceX Reported Raising A Record Amount In Its IPO

Elon Musk's company has raised $85.7 billion.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX raised a record $85.7 billion, including the greenshoe option, in its initial public offering (IPO), the company announced, according to CNBC.

The additional share offering, commonly referred to as a “green shoe,” exceeds the volume of nearly all recorded tech company IPOs.

The stock was priced at $135 per share, the price then soared by 19%, and trading closed at approximately $161, after which SpaceX’s market capitalization exceeded $2 trillion.

SpaceX shares continued to rise on Monday, June 15. They gained more than 6% in less than a full day of trading.
