Yerevan is distancing itself from Moscow.

Joint military exercises involving Armenian, American, French, and Greek troops, known as Eagle Partner-2026, will take place in Armenia from June 17 to 25. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

As specified in the announcement, the exercises will involve personnel from the Armenian Armed Forces’ peacekeeping brigade, the U.S. Army in Europe and Africa, the Kansas National Guard, the French Armed Forces, and the Greek Armed Forces. The largest contingent—250 personnel—is participating in the exercises on the Armenian side, TASS reports.

The exercises are aimed at preparing for and carrying out peacekeeping missions, exchanging best practices in command and tactical communication, and enhancing the readiness of the Armenian Armed Forces’ peacekeeping unit.

Exercises have not yet been conducted with this particular composition. The United States and Armenia first held Eagle Partner on Armenian territory in September 2023. The last time was in August 2025.
