This is the first loss in the Russian Dawn grouping.

Moscow has suffered a new space failure. The Rassvet project, which provides Russia with broadband satellite internet, has probably lost one of its 16 satellites. This was reported by the resource RussianSpaceWeb.

This is the first loss in Russia's Rassvet constellation. The satellite was probably faulty and only "lived" for about 3 months. After launch, it never turned on its engines to correct its orbit.

The apparatus gradually lost altitude. It finally entered the dense atmosphere yesterday, where it was destroyed.

"As expected, the first satellite to enter the atmosphere was the unmaneuverable Object 4 (2026-061D). It presumably burned up in the atmosphere around June 6, 2026. At that time, there was no official information about the status of the mission," the article says.

The other 15 satellites of Rassvet are performing maneuvers, that is, presumably, are in working condition.

There are rumors that Russia is already planning a new launch of satellites into orbit on June 18 to strengthen the Rassvet constellation. However, there is no confirmation of this information at the moment.

The Russian army tried to switch to Rassvet after it lost the opportunity to use the American Starlink in the war. However, mass use of the "analog" never happened.

Z-war correspondents were frank about the fact that the Russian technology is significantly inferior to the American one: too weak and slow, no stable coverage, no mass deliveries.
