The U.S. And Russia Are Preparing For Talks

Rubio revealed the details.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that he will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on July 23. According to him, one of the key topics of the meeting will be finding ways to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a post by RFE/RL correspondent Alex Raufoglu on X.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on July 23.

According to the head of U.S. diplomacy, the parties intend to discuss, among other things, issues related to finding ways to achieve peace in the Russia-Ukraine war.

During a conversation with journalists, correspondent Alex Raufoglu asked Rubio whether he intended to put pressure on the Russian minister regarding Ukraine.

“It’s inappropriate to talk about pressure; I will speak with him about this… The U.S. remains open and is committed to playing a constructive role in ending the war,” said Marco Rubio.

Earlier that same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that his meeting with Marco Rubio would take place on July 23.

According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during the talks he intends to ask his American counterpart about the possibility of a swift resolution to the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine.
