Dubai authorities have come up with a plan designed to help restore tourist traffic following a sharp decline caused by the war in the Middle East. The plan involves offering cash rewards to those who attract tourists.

It is known that residents of the emirate are being promised bonuses totaling more than $700 if they invite friends or relatives to come on vacation.
The A Dubai Invite Program
Thus, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has launched the A Dubai Invite program, under which residents of the United Arab Emirates can receive a benefits package worth more than 3,000 dirhams (over $800 or about 700 euros), if their friends or relatives visit the emirate as tourists.
The package includes free hotel stays, restaurant discounts, tickets to tourist attractions, and other special offers.
Invited guests must be non-residents of the UAE, enter the country on a tourist visa, and arrive in Dubai by October 31. Each resident can receive up to three reward packages, which can be used until the end of the year.
Crisis Due to the War
As The Guardian notes, the program was launched in response to a sharp drop in tourist arrivals. Despite a record-breaking nearly 20 million tourists in 2025, Dubai’s tourism industry is facing a serious crisis this year following the escalation of the war between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, which has engulfed the Persian Gulf region.
According to the publication, following Iranian missile and drone attacks in February—which damaged Dubai International Airport and well-known hotels—the city lost its reputation as a safe tourist destination.
As a result, the number of international flights has dropped significantly, and hotels have suffered major losses. Some establishments temporarily closed or underwent extensive renovations during this period.
In parallel with the government program, the tourism industry has also begun to stimulate demand. Some hotels are offering discounts of up to 45%, free nights, and other promotions for guests.
The initiative has already generated considerable interest. According to local media reports, more than 10,000 applications were submitted in the first 48 hours after the program’s launch alone.
