Ukrainian Soldiers Destroyed A Rare "Forpost-R" Drone In The Kursk Region Of The Russian Federation

The Russian military lost only a few of these drones during the entire full-scale war.

The Ukrainian military destroyed a rare Russian “Forpost-R” drone capable of carrying guided bombs. It was intercepted over the Kursk region.

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a Telegram post by Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to Brovdi, the “Forpost-R” was detected and destroyed on July 27 over the Kursk region of Russia.

The operation was carried out by pilots of the 7th "Topota" Battalion of the 414th Separate "Ptaki Madyara" Brigade. A Ukrainian “Chaklun-KM” drone was used to intercept the target, striking the unmanned aerial vehicle at an altitude of 4,300 meters.

“The ‘Forpost-R’—a heavy, expensive strike-and-reconnaissance UAV capable of carrying guided munitions—has been neutralized and shot down,” reported the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to Brovdi, the “Forpost-R” is capable of carrying laser-guided KAB-20 aerial bombs.

The commander noted that this is only the sixth confirmed instance of such a drone being destroyed since the start of the full-scale war and the second credited to the 414th Separate Brigade “Ptaki Madyara.” The brigade’s soldiers shot down the first “Forpost-R” in April 2025.
