Zelenskyy reported this.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has managed to increase the rate of Russian attack drones shot down to 93%.
The head of state made this announcement during an awards ceremony for members of the Security and Defense Forces.
According to the president, Air Force Commander Kryvonozhko reported today on what the Russians’ objectives were during the massive strike.
“And what our air defenders were able to counter. One of the things that is helping us significantly make up for the shortage of air defense missiles is the professionalism of our military and the courage of our Ukrainian soldiers. Our soldiers are performing truly heroic deeds. Many people around the world simply wouldn’t be able to do that,” he said.
“Last night alone, more than 30 cruise missiles were shot down by our combat aviation. Soldiers from mobile fire groups made a significant contribution to these shootdowns. We’ve already brought our interception rate for Russian attack drones up to 93%. These are substantial results,” the president added.
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that defending against ballistic missiles is only possible thanks to the support of our partners.
“And we are working with them to ensure that Ukraine does indeed receive the necessary capabilities. One of the most compelling arguments is precisely the professionalism of our soldiers—the ability of Ukrainians to shoot down even the most sophisticated and dangerous Russian missiles.
And, of course, our main argument for all international cooperation, for all our international efforts, is the front line. These are our positions, our defenses, our combat brigades, and other Ukrainian units that are repelling Russian assaults and defending Ukraine. “Everything depends on how the front holds, on how the front is supported by Ukrainian society, and on how grateful society is to the front,” he concluded.
