Well-known Ukrainian volunteer Mykhailo Purychev, who in the spring of 2022 made life-threatening trips in his own red minibus to rescue children from occupied Mariupol, and also set up resistance outposts throughout the Donbas, has come under intense pressure from Russian security forces, according to comments.ua.
The security forces of Putin’s regime have effectively taken one of his sons hostage, issuing an uncompromising ultimatum to the volunteer.
According to Purychev, two of his children are currently in territory controlled by Ukraine, while the other two, due to certain life circumstances, reside in the Russian Federation. FSB representatives contacted the volunteer directly via his son’s cell phone.
“The Russian intelligence services offered me so-called ‘friendship,’” Mikhail Purychev admits in his video message, describing the essence of the blackmail, “which in reality means working directly for a hostile state. If I refuse, they’ll simply kill my son.”
In addition, the occupiers are threatening to send the young man to the front lines to force him to fight against his own country. The invaders also warned that if information about this call were made public, the child would be killed immediately.
Despite the mortal danger, Mikhail decided to reveal the truth.
In a video post, the volunteer team released an alarming statement, noting that Purychev is currently on a flight to the Russian capital.
“Mikhail is currently flying to Moscow, where a rigorous screening process awaits him,” representatives of his team said, commenting on the leader’s urgent departure. “He is taking this enormous risk with the sole hope of saving his child’s life.”
At this time, Mikhail Purychev’s exact status, his whereabouts, and the conditions he faces after landing in Russia remain unknown.
