"Everyone Was Screaming, Everyone Was Running"

Residents of Kryvyi Rih described the first few minutes after the drone attack on the shopping center.

On the afternoon of August 21, Russian occupiers launched an attack with a strike drone on the largest shopping complex in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine “Solnechnaya Galereya,” resulting in the deaths and injuries of many city residents. Eyewitnesses to the tragedy recounted the events to “Suspilne. Dnipro,” the website New Voice.

Svetlana, an employee at one of the stores in the shopping center, described how, immediately after the attack, she helped an acquaintance who had sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.

Volunteer Bohdan told “Suspilne” that he was near the site of the occupiers’ strike—first he heard an explosion, and then he saw smoke.

“I saw people, helped a man—he had shrapnel wounds—and took him to a safe place because of the threat of a second strike. Then I handed him over to the ambulance crew,” he concluded.
