"The Terminator" Stepped Into The Ring Against A Human

The first-ever fight against a humanoid robot ended unexpectedly.

A well-known blogger faced off against a two-meter-tall humanoid robot that closely resembled the T-800 from the famous *Terminator* film series.

It seems like the plot of a science-fiction movie has become a reality. For the first time in history, a boxing match took place between a human and a humanoid robot. What’s most interesting is that the robot’s appearance resembles the fictional Terminator—that is, the T-800 killer robot—from the films directed by James Cameron. The robot’s name is also similar. An American company that organizes robot fights controlled remotely by humans has decided to hold the first-ever boxing match between a humanoid robot and a human in San Francisco, USA. The idea was suggested to the company by the well-known American vlogger Franky Lapenna, who decided to participate in the match himself.

In just one evening, the blogger faced off against three robots: first the miniature Unitree G1, and then, one after another, two massive machines. These are ENGINEAI T800 robots, which stand about 180 cm tall, weigh about 100 kg, and cost over $40,000. In appearance, these nearly two-meter-tall robots resemble the Terminator. For those who don’t remember the first movie about this killer robot, released in 1984, the plot involves machines taking over the world in the future, and one robot traveling back in time to kill the future mother of the leader of the human resistance.

Especially for the fight, the blogger donned protective gear to defend himself against the Terminator’s blows. While an average adult is capable of delivering a punch with a force of about 294 kg, according to REK, their large robots deliver punches with a force of 385 kg.

The match began with Lapenna landing several precise blows that sent the robot’s head snapping back and caused it to stagger. But the robot responded with a devastating series of kicks, and the blogger was sent flying into the wall.

Although the video makes it seem like the human lost the fight, REK claims that this is not the case. The blogger managed to defeat the robot, which had beaten him up badly. The blogger managed to throw the robot off balance and slam it into the wall, causing the machine’s mechanism to jam and the robot’s head to literally be torn off.

The only real injury the blogger sustained was a hurt hand; otherwise, he was unharmed. However, it’s reported that a fight with another Terminator ended less favorably.

Social media users were shocked by footage showing the robot knocking a man to the ground and beating him. One commenter wrote: “Haven’t we been shown six whole movies explaining why this is a bad idea?” The social media user is apparently referring to the fact that Hollywood has indeed made six Terminator movies, five of which featured Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800.
