Belarusian militia banned hugs in the street

The Free Hugs action ended not having started in Savetskaya Street in Hrodna.
On November 29, about ten boys and girls with posters offered free hugs to passers-by, Euroradio reports.
The aim of the action was to evoke positive emotions. The first reaction of some Hrodna dwellers was shock, but later they were hugging one another and having a good time.
The participants of the action managed to hug only 20 people, then militia officers came up to them and ordered rudely to stop doing this. They said the action wasn’t permitted.
The Free Hugs campaign is a movement involving individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public places. The campaign was started in 2004 by Australian man Juan Mann.
