Belarus-based Iranian banks fall under US sanctions

The US has imposed unilateral sanctions on 21 more Iranian companies.

RIA Novosti inform about that with a reference to the US Treasury Department. The list contains companies working in the sphere of finances, insurance, mining, investment and industry, which are controlled by Iranian government.

The Ministry advises all US citizens and companies stop dealing with these Iranian entities.

Among the companies which have been added to the list there is Onerbank which works in Belarus. According to the US Treasury Department, it is controlled by Iranian bank structures.

The unilateral US sanctions will be also applied to Export Development Bank of Iran, Sina Bank and Torgonov Kapital banks. Up till now the US used sanctioned against 17 Iranian banks.

The list also includes insurance companies Iran Foreign Investment Company, as well as IFIC Holding and IHAG Trading based in Dusseldorf and controlled by Iranian government. 14 mining and research companies are on the list as well.

The US regularly increase the list of the companies against which unilateral sanctions are applied last time the list was expanded on June 17, when the US Treasury Department included 30 new companies on the list.

On June 9 the UN Security Council adopted a new resolution which imposes new sanctions against Iran for with its denial to stop uranium enrichment activities.
