Lukashenka's Administration Cut by 30%

The structure of the Administration and duties of bureaucrats has drastically changed.
Since May 2017 the number of employees at the Lukashenka's Administration will equal to 118 people including civil servants. Decree No. 40 "On Optimization of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus" published on the National Legal Portal provides it. The document was signed on February 13.
Changes also affected the structure of the presidential administration. Position of one of Deputy Heads of the Administration (responsible for ideology) is officially abolished. Now there are only three of them including first Deputy.
Press secretary now becomes a separate structural unit with new functions and powers.
Names of positions of Lukashenka's assistants are changed in the regions and Minsk. As previously reported, there are two new positions introduced: on the legislative and judicial activity and the development of the financial and credit system.

Lukashenka announced "optimization" of his Administration on December 21, 2016 and appointed a new head of the Administration - Natallia Kachanava. At the same time, Deputy Head of the Administration Ihar Buzouski was relieved of his office. Since December 21 Maskim Ryzhenkou has taken the position of the First Deputy Head of the Administration, Valery Mitskevich and Mikalai Snapkou have become Deputies as well.
February 6 Natallia Kachanava announced "optimization" of the Lukashenka's Administration by 30%. According to her, cuts will occur at the expense of vacancies that are connected with retirement of some employees. Others may have assistance in employment in other organizations and institutions looking for such specialists.
Decree No. 40 comes into force on May 1.
