Herein, the Vice-PM promised to punish the Minister of Energy for going behind schedule.

The Belarusian Vice-Prime Minister Uladzimir Siamashka has said this on Friday at the session of the overall forum of the Ministry of Energy.

“We need to start the power station by all means. There were talks, opponents… However, Belarus has no other option, almost one third of the electric power will be produced there, in any case, no less than a quarter,” — BELTA quotes the Vice-PM.

“We should realize that gas and oil will grow in price. There is a pause, when both oil and gas got cheaper, but it won’t last long. Our decision to construct an NPP is strategically correct,” — Uladzimir Siamashka has said.

“We are going behind the schedule because of the incident with the first reactor vessel and certain impromptness of “Rosatom”. However, there is another paradoxical situation. The “Minsk Building Architecture” complains there is no sufficient work amount. Here is the object, the plan prescribes 6 100 workers at the site in the peak period, and we only have 4 900,” — Siamashka has told.

According to him, one and the same situation repeats itself year after year: the number of workers at the site makes 80% of the plan, and the same delay is recorded with regard to the amount of work completed.

“We have discussed this topic, so, no offense, I will punish you for that,” — Siamashka has told.

He has reminded that the general contract with the “Rosatom” contained a claim that Belarus will try to fully use the capabilities of its construction and industrial enterprises.

Today, two third of the builders are the Belarusian organizations, and there are also 10 Russian ones. So, their output is 1,5 times higher than ours. If they can’t hire builders in Belarus, I will give these work amounts to the Russians,” — Siuamashka has noted.

The first power block of the Belarusian NPP in Astravets (Hrodna region) is planned to be started in 2019.
