Ministry Of Information Hides Reasons For Blocking Charter’97

The official website of the Ministry of Information published a message about the restriction of access to the website.

The official announcement about the decision to block access to Charter97.org appeared on the website of the Ministry of Information this morning. However, the ministerial officials hide the reasons for blocking the most popular independent Internet resource, using formal wording.

“The Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of subparagraph 1.2 of Paragraph 1 of Article 511 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Mass Media” decided to restrict access to the informational resource Charter97.org.

This decision was made in connection with the posting of information, the dissemination of which is prohibited by Article 38 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Mass Media”, by the mentioned resourse.

The Ministry of Information once again draws the attention of all subjects of the informational sphere to the necessity of strict observance of the legislation on the mass media,” — stated in the message.

Important to note, on January 24 the Lukashenka regime blocked the independent informational resource Charter97.org. First Deputy Minister of Information Ihar Lutski confirmed the fact of blocking.

The detailed instruction how to overcome the blocking of the website Charter97.org is available here.
