The activists were going to the concert-demonstration, sanctioned by the authorities.

Five activists of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party were detained when they were heading out of Babruisk, their ally Ihar Barysau informed via Facebook.

"Five activists of the BSDP together with representative of the Central Committee Yury Hryniavitski were detained when they were heading out of Babruisk.

All of them were going to Minsk to the concert, allowed by the authorities. Now their car is escorted by the police to the local police department. They are charged with having committed a crime," - the activist wrote.

Important to note, the Lukashenka regime held preventive arrests of the participants of the celebration of the BPR's 100th anniversary.

On March 23 of this year, the Maskouski district court of Minsk sentenced coordinator of the European Belarus Yauhen Afnahel to 10 days of an administrative detention.

On March 21, the members of the organizing committee of the action Uladzimir Niakliaeu, Viachaslau Siuchyk and Maxim Viniarski were also detained. Maxim Viniarski was sentenced on March 21 for 10 days of detention for the solidarity action with the website Charter97.org, blocked in Belarus.

Uladzimir Niakliaeu was sentenced to 10 days, will be released only on March 31. Siuchyk is also held in the Akrestsin Street detention center . Also, activist of the European Belarus Leanid Kulakou was convicted for the 10-day arrest for holding an action in support of Charter'97 on March 13.

Poet and civil activist Slavamir Adamovich was detained in Maryina Horka today. Journalist Volha Chaichyts was also detained on her way to Minsk.
