The Chairman of the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic on the awarding a medal to the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic.
Yesterday, the journalist Natallia Radzina, Editor-in-Chief of Charter-97, was awarded a medal for the 100th anniversary of BPR, the website of the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic writes.
The Chairman of the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic Ivonka Survilla commented on the award:
“Natallia Radzina is undoubtedly the pride of Belarusian journalism. This woman is a figure of heroism and courage, determination to speak the truth and protect free speech, despite the threats and repression.
Honoring Natallia Radzina we honor the whole team of the legendary Charter-97. It is one of the main Belarusian independent and democratic media, also one of the very first news outlets on the Belarusian Internet. For many years, the journalists of the Charter have been wholeheartedly fighting for the freedom and dignity of all Belarusians, risking their own freedom and even life.”
The decree on awarding a medal to the 100th anniversary of the BNR was signed on December 24, 2018. The list of persons to be awarded included more than 130 people – politicians, activists, cultural figures and scientists from Belarus, representatives of the Belarusian diaspora, as well as foreigners.
