Sister of Raman Bandarenka Told How the Authorities Put the Brakes on the Investigation of the Case

The official investigation does not speak about specific suspects.

On May 12, six months have passed since the death of a resident of the Square of Changes Raman Bandarenka.

At the time of writing, the Prosecutor General's Office did not officially report the news on the progress and results of the investigation into the death of Raman Bandarenka.

“The investigation into the murder lasted three months after Raman’s death; on February 18, a criminal case was initiated. After that, again, almost three months passed, but our family does not see any progress. Nothing new. They still tilt the story in the direction that he was allegedly drunk. At least from what I hear, the conclusions are as follows,” Raman's cousin Volha Kucharenka shared information with Radio Svaboda.

“Although I personally hoped that this obsessive idea had already been removed from the agenda. Six months have passed since the tragedy, but nothing is said about specific suspects or an intelligible version of death,” complained Raman Bandarenka's sister.

Volha Kucharenka said that, according to her information, neighbors and colleagues who were not with Raman that day were summoned as witnesses for interrogations and questioning. And his mother was summoned to the prosecutor's office only once - after the criminal case was opened. That was the end of it, says Raman Bandarenka's sister.

"Since we have quieted down in the legal sense - we run, fuss, remind of ourselves less because all the instances have already been passed - they think that everything will collapse by itself," Volha Kucharenka believes.

“Therefore, they send the same type of answers, like spitting in the face. It makes no sense to talk about the trial at all since, with such “zeal,” the investigation can drag on forever,” the girl is sure.

“For me personally, it is not so much their investigation that is important as understanding what actually happened. More precisely, I already know something for myself, but I would like it to be heard at the official level. After all, in a normal state, the authorities, in principle, should be interested in achieving the truth and justice,” said the sister of the deceased Raman Bandarenka.
