Belarus Sentences Latvian Citizen For ‘Insulting Lukashenka’

Dmitri Mikhailovs was sentenced to four years in prison.

The Minsk City Court sentenced Latvian citizen Dmitri Mikhailovs to 4 years in prison, according to the leta.lv news publisher.

As follows from the court's calendar, Mikhailovs was tried under four articles: calls for action against national security (Part 3, Article 361), insulting a representative of the authorities (Article 369), inciting hatred (Part 2, Article 130) and insulting Aliaksandr Lukashenka (Parts 1, 2, Article 368).

In October 2022, the KGB included Mikhailovs in the "list of organizations and individuals involved in terrorist activities".
