Russian General, Commander of the Group West, Disclosed

Before the war, he took part in a series of exercises in Belarus.

The Russian Ministry of Defense disclosed the map of one of the military aces - the commander of the group West.

He is Lieutenant General Andrei Ivanovich Sychevoy, a war criminal of the highest rank. He gives orders in the war against Ukraine.

According to a story by the UNIAN FreeDom project, there is very little information about the commander of the group West. The Russians themselves admit that he is one of the most closed to the press commanders of this rank. Whenever a journalist asks for an interview, Sychevoy gives the same answer: "Let's talk after the operation".

Sychevoy is 53 years old. He was born in the Krymsky district, Krasnodarsky region, and graduated from Suvorov and Ulyanovsk Guards Higher Tank Command School in 1990. He served in a tank and motorized rifle units. After the academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, he worked his way up from deputy commander of the regiment to the deputy division commander. Since November 2009 to January 2011 - the commander of the 70th motorized rifle brigade of the Far Eastern Military District. Then he served as commander of the 59th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Eastern Military District for a year. In May 2013, Andrei Sychevoy became commander of the second motorized rifle division of the Taman military district in the Western Military District.

After a series of exercises in Belarus, Sychevoy became Chief of Staff of the Fifth Combined Army of the Eastern Military District. In 2017, his name was added to Putin's secret list. A secret decree of the Russian president appoints officers to the command of the Eighth Army, which is supposed to guard the borders, primarily with Ukraine.

In 2019, he is promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. Sychevoy's subordinates tell their commander can be very tough on those who are stalling in following orders. Sometimes he hits hard, but if he realizes he was wrong or gave an officer a scolding, he will apologize. There is an interesting moment in Sychevoy's biography: in November 2021, he was dismissed, although there is no information about it in open sources. But two months later, in February 2022, Andrei Sychevoy falls under the personal sanctions of the European Union.

"Andrei Sychevoy has the blood of thousands of Ukrainians on his hands," the journalists summed up.

Earlier, the head of the Defense Ministry of the occupying country, Sergei Shoygu, gave an order to destroy Ukrainian drones in the areas bordering Russia. The order to destroy Ukrainian drones was given to the commander of the Russian military group West in Ukraine.
