None of Lukashenka's predictions for 2022 has come true.
Every year, Lukashenka's regime prepares a forecast of the country's socio-economic development for the next year. These forecasts are always very optimistic, but nothing has come true in 2022, the My Country Belarus Telegram channel writes.
According to Lukashenka’s decree, approved in December last year, everything should have grown in Belarus in 2022:
— It was expected that the gross domestic product will grow by 2.9%, but as a result, over the 11 months of this year, GDP fell by 4.7%.
— Real wages were supposed to rise by 2%, but they fell by 3.9% compared to the same period last year.
— Investments were supposed to grow by 3.3%, however, investments in fixed assets for 11 months exceeded 4 billion 240 million rubles, which is almost 8% less.
— Export of goods and services was supposed to grow by 6.3%, but goods and services were exported for almost 37 billion 799 million dollars. For 10 months of last year it was 4.6% more.
It was expected that inflation would not exceed 6%, but in January-November it amounted to 15.4%.
All this led to two main results of the year:
• the multi-vector nature of foreign trade is put to rest,
• a strong decline in the IT industry.
As a result, we have a radical deterioration in the image of Belarus in the world due to complicity in the war.
