Defence Intelligence: Russian Intelligence Services Can Stage Provocation On Belarusian Territory

The Kremlin’s strategic task is to drag the Belarusian army into the war against Ukraine.

The Kremlin is not giving up its attempts to drag the Belarusian army into the war against Ukraine. Representative of the Defence Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Andriy Yusov spoke about this in an interview with Radio NV.

“The Kremlin has a strategic task — to draw the Belarusian army into a full-fledged ground operation in the war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation. And during the entire period of the full-scale invasion this failed. But, nevertheless, the Russian special services will not abandon their attempts,” Yusov said.

This is how a representative of the Defence Intelligence commented on the recent message from the Center for National Resistance that the Russian FSB and the Belarusian KGB are preparing a “false flag” operation against one of the objects on the territory of Belarus, in order to then blame Ukraine for it.

Yusov noted that Russia thoroughly has information about all critical infrastructure facilities on the territory of Belarus and about the strengths and weaknesses, including, of the special services and the army of Belarus.

“This information has been and will be used both against Ukraine and against Belarus itself. There are many such scenarios. From simulated sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the use of drones on infrastructure facilities in the energy sector, and many other points. In this context, Russians should not be underestimated. They have a wealth of experience: the bombing of Voronezh, and the bombing of their own houses, with their own civilian population, and many other scenarios. They have enough of such bloody creativity,” said the intelligence representative.
