Ukraine Recalls Its Ambassador From Belarus

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has condemned yesterday's meeting between Aliaksandr Lukashenka and the head of the occupation administration of Donetsk Region, Denis Pushylin. The ministry sees it as an attempt to legitimize him and intends to recall its ambassador to Belarus, Igor Kizim, for consultations.

"We consider the meeting with the representative of the Russian occupation administration, who is hiding from the Ukrainian investigation for committing grave crimes and is under Ukrainian and international sanctions, another and blatant unfriendly act by the Republic of Belarus aimed at supporting the Russian aggressor state. In this connection, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry decided to summon Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus Igor Kizim for consultations," reads a statement released by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"Minsk must refrain from such destructive steps and stop supporting Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine," the ministry added.
