Politico: Biden Calls Leaders Of Congress To Meet At White House

They will discuss aid to Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden has invited leaders of Congress to the White House for a meeting on Wednesday, January 17, to discuss ongoing discussions on a bill that provides, among other things, assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by Politico, citing three unnamed interlocutors familiar with the request.

The expected participants in the meeting include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

According to two of the reporters' interlocutors, key committee leaders, including those heading the Appropriations committees, are also expected to attend.

Biden said earlier that Republicans "will have to pay for a lot" if they do not approve additional military aid funding for Ukraine in Congress.
