Lukashenko’s former aide and former Belarusian ambassador to China Kirill Rudyi has become a venture partner at BlueLake.vc; as he himself announced on social media, according to "Zerkalo".
“I look forward to contributing to this fund, which specializes in deep-tech, by combining the key areas of my career: finance, geotechnology, and strategic vision. I plan to apply this experience in collaboration with startup founders and investors to shape the future together,” Rudyi wrote on LinkedIn.
The company’s website states that the former government official specializes in international strategy, cross-border partnerships, and helping emerging technologies enter global markets. Prior to joining BlueLake.vc, he “held leadership positions in the diplomatic, government, and technology sectors and spent more than 25 years working in international business, finance, technology, and academia.”
Founded in 2022, BlueLake Ventures is an investment firm headquartered in Raleigh, USA. It invests in early-stage companies, providing capital and strategic support in sectors such as computing, energy, materials science, and biology, with a particular focus on enterprises based on scientific and engineering innovations.
As a reminder, Rudyi previously worked at Andersen Lab, an IT company with Belarusian roots. He oversaw the company’s relations with government agencies in various countries. In March, amid the outbreak of hostilities between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, he moved from the UAE to the U.S.
Rudy is a former economic advisor to Alexander Lukashenko and a former ambassador of our country to China. In January 2020, after 13 years of public service, Rudyi resigned and took a position as an independent director at finstore.by—a crypto project of BelVEB Bank. Later, Rudyi joined the board of directors of the Eurasia Gulf business platform (UAE). He identifies himself as the vice chairman.
In Belarus, Lukashenko’s former advisor worked at organizations such as “Atlant-M,” the IT company Andersen Lab, “Technika i Kommunikatsii,” which organizes, among other things, the TIBO exhibition, as well as “Aston Soft”—a company with Russian roots. In addition, the former top official taught at three universities—Belarusian State University (BSU), Belarusian State Economic University (BSEU), and the Minsk Institute of Economics (MIU).
