The Ukrainian President called the head of the Kremlin a beast.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again rejected the possibility of negotiations with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and emphasised the importance of Western consolidation around Ukraine, as the Kremlin leader "feels fear like a beast". He said this in an interview with The Economist.
Zelensky said that by supporting Ukraine, Europe is protecting itself from Russian aggression.
"By giving us money or giving us weapons, you are supporting yourselves. You are saving your children, not our children," Zelensky said, warning that if Ukraine loses, Putin's aggression will move westwards.
The Ukrainian president said that "Putin feels weak like a beast, because he is a beast."
"He feels blood, he feels his strength. And he will eat you for dinner with all your EU, NATO, freedom and democracy," Zelensky said.
He reminded that the intelligence services of a number of European countries have started to consider the possibility of an attack on their territories by Russia - and this applies even to those countries that were not part of the USSR.
Commenting on the topic of the talks, Zelensky said that he does not see "any fundamental steps forward towards peace on the part of Russia", but sees "the steps of a terrorist country".
The president believes that if the Russians are sending signals about their alleged desire to freeze the conflict, "it is not because they are righteous, but because they do not have enough missiles, ammunition or trained troops".
