Powerful Reinforcements For Ukrainian Armed Forces Arrive In Avdiivka

The speaker of the 110th brigade revealed the details.

Some units of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade (hereinafter referred to as the Separate Mechanized Brigade) were withdrawn for rotation from near Avdiivka for the first time in two years, brigade spokesman Ivan Sekach said on Radio Svoboda.

“Our brigade has been in this direction for two years now. Our defense began 40 kilometers from Avdiivka. This is from New York to Opytne. Over time, the Russians accumulated forces to take Avdiivka. And therefore our line has decreased, now it is several times smaller,” said Sekach.

According to him, now the brigade does not have the capabilities to hold Avdiivka — reinforcements have been sent to help.

“For the first time in almost two years of operation of the 110th separate mechanized brigade, some of our units were fully withdrawn from combat for rest and rotation. Indeed, reinforcements have arrived. I won't say what kind of unit this is. But this is powerful support, we felt a little calmer when they came,” said the speaker of the 110th Separate Brigade.

In addition, he said that the key task of the Russian Federation in this direction is to cut the supply line.

“There are other options though (logistics — edit.). That is, they are trying to capture Avdiivka. They have a clear task, we all understand that Putin’s elections will take place in March and they need a victory. Therefore, they use all their capabilities and all available resources to complete the task, regardless of losses,” said Sekach.

He also added that for some purposes the Russian Federation uses professional military personnel in this area. But more often they are mobilized, contract soldiers or mercenaries from other countries. According to him, the Russian Federation has an advantage there in many areas.

“They have a full-fledged advantage in aviation, that is, we cannot in any way influence air raids, the bombing of the city and our positions. They have a huge number of personnel whom they do not take into account, and they constantly experiment with different groups using armored vehicles. They have a task, and they are trying to accomplish no matter what,” summed up the representative of the 11th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
