Ukraine is ready to intensify its strikes.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov stated that the Defense Forces will intensify strikes on the territory of the aggressor country Russia if Moscow does not end the war. He made this statement in an interview with a Latvian television channel LTV, published on Friday, September 11.
“If Russia does not cease military operations against us, it is obvious that it will feel the consequences even more strongly and acutely. Our strikes will become increasingly deep and powerful,” Budanov said.
He noted that Ukraine is ready for a cessation of hostilities—this is Kyiv’s official and public position.
“We are ready for the war to end and are striving for that. Of course, on normal, acceptable terms, and not in the form of an ultimatum: ‘Give us everything, and on top of that, remain indebted to us.’ That won’t happen,” says Budanov.
According to him, the most realistic scenario for ending or suspending the war is a freeze on the current front line on the day an agreement is reached with security guarantees. However, Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupied territories as Russian—“that won’t happen, and no one will do that,” Budanov emphasizes.
Earlier, Budanov stated that long-range strikes alone cannot win the war: they are a means of coercion that works only in conjunction with other forms of military operations.
