Putin's Cousin Dies In Russia

His son holds a high position on the board of Gazprom.

Yevgeny Putin, 91, who is said to be a cousin of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, has died in Russia. He was a urologist from Ivanovo who "brought his patients back on their feet" between 1970s and 1990s.

This was reported by Russian publications on March 12.

It is noted that the son of Putin's deceased relative is a deputy chairman at Gazprom, and his daughter owns one of the largest coal companies in Russia.

It is noteworthy that there is virtually only one photo of Yevgeny Punin in the network. Russians write that he was buried a few days ago, but they have no information about the causes and circumstances of death.

"At the end of February, he celebrated his 90th birthday in Suzdal at the home of his son Mikhail, said a classmate of Yevgeny's daughter's daughter. The funeral took place on March 10," the reports said.

According to Russian media reports, Yevgeny Putin's family lived in Ivanovo in Sakko Street sometime before 2002, then moved to Moscow after Vladimir Putin came to power, and later settled in Suzdal.

The son of the Russian leader's cousin serves as deputy chairman of Gazprom and is a member of the company's management board. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov himself said that this is a "distant relative" of Putin, with whom the latter does not communicate.

Yevgeny Putin's daughter Anna now has the surname of Tsivileva, as she is married to the governor of Kemerovo region Sergei Tsivilev. In 2018, she received 70 per cent of Kolmar, one of Russia's largest coal mining companies, from her husband.

"At the end of February last year, Yevgeny Putin celebrated his 90th birthday. He was a leading Ivanovo urologist who brought his patients to their feet during the 1970-90s," Russian media wrote, without even publishing a photo from his funeral.
