Four servicemen of the Russian Federation were killed and about 9 wounded as a result of fighting with volunteers after breaking through the border of the Russian Federation on March 12.

"4 servicemen of the Rosgvardia were killed, 4 wounded near the village of Nezhegol in Shebekino municipal district of Belgorod region on March 12. They were attacked by a drone. In the same place, a UAV destroyed a Rosgvardia Ural vehicle and a D-20 howitzer cannon," the report said.

In addition, at least 2 servicemen of the Russian Defense Ministry were wounded during a firefight near the village of Zhuravlevka, Belgorod district, Belgorod region, in the morning of 12 March.

"Several other servicemen of the Russian Defence Ministry were also wounded near Zhuravlevka, their exact number is unknown," ASTRA sources said.

Another serviceman of the Extra-departmental Guard was allegedly wounded in a missile and UAV attack in Graivoron, Belgorod Region, on March 12. As a result of the shelling, FSB, police and court buildings were damaged in the town.

On March 12, it became known about the breakthrough of the Russian border by volunteers of the "Freedom to Russia" legion, the RVC, and the "Siberian Battalion". In particular, they broke through into Belgorod region by tanks and are advancing in several directions. At the same time, the volunteers of "Freedom to Russia" posted a corresponding appeal, in which they said that "the legion is coming to the elections".

Later it became known that the volunteers took control of the village of Tetkino in Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

According to the DeepStateMAP interactive map, as of the evening of March 12, the volunteers could occupy more than 40 square kilometres of Russian territory.
